PATERNAL FAMILY (DADEYAL)
Ustad Nazar Mohammed Khan Sahab and Ustad Wazir Mohammed Khan are the
sons Hon'ble Ustad Mehtab Khan Sahab. From their Father their learned the
education of Classical Music and the Art of Qawali and enlighten the name of their
father, and possessed the exclusive name in the Art of Qawali. Ustad Fateh
Mohammed Khan Sahab and Ustad Chamah Khan Sahab are sons of Ustad Nazar
Mohammed Khan Sahab. Ustad Fateh Mohammed Khan Sahab well known and
renowned Qawal in the Hindustan and very well recognized in the Hindustan . In the
world of Qawali his name holds an exclusive denomination and needs no
introduction. He with the old custom of Qawali fulfills all the modern requirements.

That's why he is very well-recognized in all the ages. Ustad Fateh Mohammed Khan was the finest
Qawal in the Hindustan . He embraced full command in the Classical Music and in the Art of
Qawali, holds full control in the singing. We have firm believe that the new comers will learn a lot
from his experiences in the field of singing.

In the field of Qawali there are many names but the unique style of Ustad Fateh Mohammed
Khan will always remember, therefore, this is the reason that the listener, listen his music from
their bottoms of hearts. Ustad Fateh Mohammed Khan possessed singing
proficiency (SUR) and also holds great character/qualities. He performs, the
poetry of Great Sufi Poet with all due respect in different languages viz, Farsi,
Hindi, Arabic, Purbi and Urdu. His services towards the Art of Qawali is always
memorize till prolonged. He sings the poetry (Kalam) of Great Sufi Poet and
Great Sufi Azam with warm-heart and with all due warm-respect, which still
echoed and listen today in his audio cassettes.There are number of student of

student of Ustad Fateh Mohammed Qawal. His songs in the Indian Films are very popular, like,
MOOREY SAEEYA UTAR GAEEY PAR, WO CHALEY HAIN JHATAK KEY DAAMAN, NADEEYAN DEERAY
BHOREE HAIN etc. and like that many songs are very popular and well-known in the Indian Films.
Ustad Fateh Mohammed Qawal's younger brother Ustad Chamah Khan who was a great Tabla
Player. He learned the regular education of Tabla from his elder brother Ustad Fateh Mohammed
Qawal and he assist his elder brother while performing Qawali. He was well-known in Hindustan 's
best Tabla Player. The elder son of Ustad Chamah Khan, Ustad Shafat Ahmed Khan was also a
great Tabla Player. He also learned Tabla from his father, and his paternal
uncle and continued the same sprit of Table Playing and improved. From the
great services as a Table Player, the Government of India bestowed the higher
award known as “PADHAM BHUSHAN”. Amjad Ali Khan (Sarod Player), Shiv
Kumar Sharma (Santur Player), Hari Parsad Chorasiya (Flute Player) and Zakir
Hussain (famous Tabla Player) are the fellow musician of Ustad Shafat Ahmed
Khan. He also performed with many others great and famous musician of India . Ustad Shafat
Ahmed Khan is very well-recognized in the world as a Great Table Player.

MATERNAL FAMILY (NANEEYAL)
The Maternal Family of Ali Mohammed Taji is a family of Ajpal Khan Naik. The
family of Naik having names of “Mian Sadaran Naik”, “Mian Aadaran Naik” and
“Ramzan Khan “Rangely”, is the well-known musical family in India, which is
belongs to Mooza Zikendarabad, City Boland District, U.P. India and as well as
known as Sadaran Family & Kalawat Family. This family is not belongs to any
founder. Hafiz Siraj Hassan Khan was the ancestor of this Family, who was
companion of King of Delhi Ghayasuddin. He was lived in Balkh , Afghanistan . This family was
served to many department of army. Now where the Music comes from in this family, that Sardar
Mohsin Ali Khan, who was a famous Sardar of King Mohammed Shah Rangely and he had three
sons, elder son namely Niamatullah Khan Naik “Mian Sadaran Naik”, Feroz Khan “Mian Aadaran
Naik” and youngest son Ramzan Khan “Rangely”. The importance of Music in the Sociology of
India was not concealed. They learned music from the great Ustad Abad Khan Sahab and acquired
excellence. To modify the Music, the effort of Mian Sahab will never exonerate. To initiate the
term of singing known as “KHAYAL”, he take the same into its extreme. There is no any Rag and
Ragi, in which his expertise is not present . In this family there are many famous names like Quta
Ali Khan, who was the great Ustad and performed in that time. He was a shahi singer and minister
of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Wali Udooh ( Lucknow ). In this famous Bandish Basant Bahar which was
listen by the Great Sufis with very respectful way, which is SAGREY BAN PHOOL RAHI SAROO. His
musical alias is “ASHIQ RANG”. Faiyaz Hussain Khan “Baroday Walay” was his great grand son.
Quta Ali Khan's brother-in-law namely Rahmatullah Khan was a great artist. His elder son
Kudratullah Khan, Kifayatullah Khan and younger son Azeemullah Khan Sahab, who were died in
the young age. He learned the education of music from his father and maternal uncle Qutab Ali
Khan “ASHIQ RANG”. These three brothers hold the unique style in the Indian music. These
exclusive group of singers was not developed as yet. Kifayatullah Khan Sahab's
son Badeu-uz-zaman Khan Sahab held the exclusive name in the field of
music, which as yet not holds by any other singer. His inheritably voice was
unique and speedy, which in normal way is very difficult to take out. Badeu-uz-
zaman Khan Sahab holds great rhythm in “TARANA” (term of singing) and this
was not hold by any other. He sung many Tarana. His one son amongst others
namely Ustad Shafique-uz-Zaman had also holds the same unique style and many other Ustad
afraid from him in respect of preparation of this special term. Ustad Shafique-uz-Zaman also
worked in All India Radio, Delhi and does many musical programs. He died in very young age.
The family of Mian Shada Rang holds higher position in the Art of Qawali. One of the names of
Ustad Shafique-uz-Zaman's elder son Rafique-uz-zaman Sabir, who as being Qawal, related to
the Art of Qawali, traveled to the many countries like, England, Europe, Africa, India, Dubai etc.
very well appreciated around the world. Rafique-uz-zaman Sabir's son Shafique-uz-Zaman Taji
has taking the names of his ancestors alongwith and enlighten his family name.
